Scheduling
It’s never too early to book! Maternity portraits are best captured as of 28-32 weeks when your belly is round and curvaceous but can be scheduled all the way up until your due date. This timing can be different for everyone, so I encourage you to give me a call to discuss.
I aim to provide the most relaxing and comfortable photography experience from start to finish. During your consultation, we will help you plan the location, styling, and vision for your session. Once your session has been booked, I will provide a Welcome Packet of detailed recommendations on how to prepare for your special day.
What to wear
Styling is a key element for beautiful, timeless maternity photography. For studio and outdoor portraits, I offer a variety of maternity gowns, to flatter your beautiful curves of pregnancy. You are encouraged to bring your best flattering dress or even a pair of jeans so we could combine them in the session. Your Welcome Packet will provide plenty of inspiration.
Mini session vs portrait session
Maternity sessions are delicate, and I patiently take the time to style and perfect each pose. My detailed approach allows me to capture those stunning moments that become the most beautiful, meaningful portraits. My Mini Session is a wonderful way to capture a smaller variety of maternity portraits in the outdoors. Mini Sessions are wonderful for clients who’d like to save their investment for newborn portraits. As an alternative, our Portrait Session allows for a larger variety of concepts with both backdrops, and several style changes.
Studio or outdoors?
Whether you prefer fine art maternity photography in the studio, or stylish lifestyle photos outdoors, there are endless possibilities for beautiful maternity art. Choose the studio option for modern style, a private experience, and intimate concepts. My full mobile studio equipment will arrive at your living room and will be set up in less than 15 minutes! So you don't even have to leave your house. Studio equipment includes: backdrops, backdrop stand, lightning (power outlet required) and a large variety of props. I'm able to capture a gorgeous variety of concepts with different lighting set-ups and wardrobe options.
I also offer maternity portraits in the natural light of the outdoors, choose this option for a more natural setting.
